Thank you Peel Sunset Bowling Club!
24 Nov 2020 @ 14:00
Last Thursday, we headed out West to meet little Millie, her family and members of the Peel Sunset Bowling Club, including Club Captain and Millie's Granddad, Doug Allan.
The club raised an amazing £250 in their annual Captain's Comp which they chose to donate to Diabetes IOM.
Millie, aged 7, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during lockdown earlier this year, but she is taking it all in her stride and told us she does all her own injections! What a little superstar.
Doug said, 'Each year the Peel Sunset Bowling Club hold a Captain’s Comp, the proceeds of which go to a local charity of the Captain’s choosing. This year after my granddaughter Millie had been diagnosed with diabetes, and the family realised how serious a matter it was, and it’s implications for her and her close family, I decided I would like this year’s proceeds to got to Diabetes Isle of Man. The support Millie has received and the advice her family has had has been invaluable. This donation is only a very small way of saying 'THANK YOU' to everyone concerned in helping Millie and her family! Accepting the cheque from PSBC and Millie, it made her day, especially as she was able to meet Natasha, and her hero Sam Brand who added his support to the occasion as well. Natasha, thank you very much!'
A massive thank you to the Peel Sunset Bowling Club for the donation and for helping us raise awareness of the charity.
